5 minute activitiesRead a poem, but have the students ad-lib the last word for each line. Play a variation of follow the leader. Students line up in a row and walk along. When the leader stops, the students have to compliment the leader. The next time they stop, the students have to compliment the second person in line. Keep playing until every student in line has had something good said about them. Challenge the students to find three things in the room they can clean or straighten. Play Simon Says. Students arrange themselves into groups based on what pets they own. The catch? They cannot use words. Tell the first few sentences of a story, then ask each student to add a sentence. The last student should complete the story. Find alternate uses for everyday items. Each student writes a definition of friend on a strip of paper. Glue them all together to make a friendship chain. |
