Students write their words on cardboard using glue, then sprinkle sand over the glue to make a 3d textured word they can trace their fingers over.
Students cut out letters from a newspaper or magazine to make their spelling words.

Use pipe cleaners to form your spelling words
For some novelty in the display of your spelling words, cut out little articles of clothing from coloured paper, write on spelling words and hang them on a line.

If you have a projector in your classroom, get a student to write a spelling word on a transparency with a guiding line on it.

Students pick 10 difficult words to make a word search using graph paper.
Have students use a tape recorder to practice their spelling words
If you have access to a stamp of each letter, or ideally whole sets of them, students make their words by stamping one letter at a time.
